Simple Sentence Pattern V has three groups of patterns, namely: (1) Subject (S) + Predicate (P) + Indirect Object (IO) + Direct Object (DO) (+ Adjunct); (2) S + P + DO + IO (+ Adjunct); and (3) S + P + IO / DO + DO / IO (+ Adjunct). Here, the elements of an S are Noun (N), Noun Phrase (NP), and Pronoun (Pro) as a Subject. The element of a P is a transitive verb with two objects. The elements of an O are N, NP, and Pro as an Object. The elements of an Adjunct are adverbs of frequency, manner, place, time, reason, purpose, concession, and sentence.
