LANGUAGE SKILL

In process of learning languages, especially English, there are 4 language skills as objectives which learners should properly achieve, namely: listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Listening and reading are receptive language skills because basically the two-skills receive spoken and written languages. Then, reading and writing are productive language skills in that essentially both the skills produce spoken and written languages. The language knowledge obtained from listening and reading constitutes language competence. Furthermore, the language competence produced through reading and writing forms language performance.
